Commit the demo scope and reset the team
The immediate outcome is a written, committed demo scope:
- Narrative: for [user], demonstrate [capability] so that [outcome].
- Must-show flow.
- Explicit exclusions.
- Named product decision owner and translator.
- Acceptance bar, dependencies, and escalation path.
After the decision, publish it before leaving the alignment meeting. Break the flow into vertical slices with one accountable owner each, then reset the full team around the same source of truth.
If the Product Director and VP Engineering do not produce a clear decision, do not send the team back to broad development. Name an interim product decision-maker or narrow the demo to the smallest validated flow.
